Market Glossary

Key Terms Used in Our Newsletters & Dashboard

The vocabulary of institutional analysis — defined clearly so you can read our reports with full context.

Options Sweep
A large options order filled across multiple exchanges at market price — signals urgency and strong directional conviction from a big player.
Dark Pool Print
A large block trade executed off public exchanges. Often indicates institutional accumulation or distribution before a major move.
Exchange Netflow
The difference between crypto flowing into vs. out of exchanges. Negative netflow = accumulation (bullish). Positive = selling pressure (bearish).
13F Filing
Quarterly report filed by institutional investors with $100M+ AUM disclosing their equity holdings. Used to track smart money positioning.
Form 4
SEC filing required when company insiders buy or sell stock. Must be reported within 2 business days — a key signal in our Insider Report.
DXY (Dollar Index)
Measures the US dollar against a basket of major currencies. A falling DXY is generally bullish for risk assets like equities and crypto.
Put/Call Ratio
Ratio of put options to call options traded. High ratio signals fear/bearish sentiment; low ratio signals greed/bullish sentiment.
VIX
The CBOE Volatility Index — measures expected market volatility over the next 30 days. Often called the "fear gauge." Above 20 = elevated fear.
